I build systems.

I'm Kristóf Nagy, a software engineer from Pécs. I'm the owner, founder and CTO of IntrAgile. IntrApp, WPXpert, Link2Go and IntraHost all belong to the company. I work with backend, frontend, architecture. I build everything so that it can be extended, maintained, sustained, and the code I hand over is meant to stand the test of time.

Depending on my capacity, I take on freelance work from time to time. If you need me, please get in touch, and even when I have no free time you will not be left on your own, because I know other freelancers and many different approaches, so I will help you find the right one.

About

Build and operate. Both.

projects I have actively worked on

I think like an engineer, so whenever something takes manual work twice, I would rather write it down for the machine once. To me a system is not finished when I ship it, but when it can be rebuilt, restored and measured at any time.

I have been developing professionally since 2014. I started on business-management systems and later worked as a lead developer and architect. At IntrAgile I build and run web applications, and at IntrApp I look after the architecture, stable operations and continuous development. So far I have done active work on more than thirty projects. Whether I am building or fixing, I work to industry standards, and CI/CD and documentation are a given for me. That means anyone else can calmly carry on with what I have started, built or put right.

When the problem is already big

With external systems I especially enjoy the challenge, and I am happy to put things in order. I tend to see things as systems, so people usually get in touch when the trouble is already big. I calmly untangle what happens and why, put it right, and write it down so that nobody has to untangle it again.

Work

Ventures and products

I am the owner, founder and CTO of IntrAgile Ltd., and every brand, IntrApp, WPXpert, Link2Go and IntraHost, belongs to the company. I do not build all of them alone, we work on them as a team, and what they share is that we choose simple solutions and write everything down.

Business Operating System

IntrApp

A business operating system for small and mid-sized companies. Clients, projects, finance, the knowledge base and HR live in one place. It is not a CRM and not an ERP. Every customer gets a separate environment and database, with two-step authentication and an audit log.

Writing

A selection from the IntrAgile and IntrApp blogs, in a calm voice and with an engineer's eye. The first row is about building and running software, the second about how a company and its systems work well together.

Stack

Stack and mindset

Three principles

  1. I keep it simple

Every new part is one more thing that can break. So I only add what is really needed, and I am happy to explain why.

  2. I write down what I build

I work to industry standards, and CI/CD and documentation are a given for me. That way the system can be set up again at any time, and anyone else can easily carry on with it.

  3. I try the restore

A backup is only truly reliable once it has been restored successfully. We try that in advance, in calm conditions.

How I work

MVP

The first version does only what is needed to test the assumption. It goes live quickly, and real usage shows what should be built next.

Lean

There is less waste, because whatever adds no value does not get built. We move in small steps, with short lead times and continuous improvement.

Agile

We work in short cycles, ask for feedback regularly, and the plan is allowed to change. The software is finished bit by bit, yet continuously, and reaches the customer early.

Integrations I have already built

I have connected a wide range of systems through APIs, from business management to payments and shipping. Here are a few of many.

FAQ

What kind of projects can you help with?

I can help with building new web systems, evolving existing ones and designing architecture. You can also count on me for database work and day-to-day operations. In every case we first assess which technology stack suits the task best.

Will you take over an existing system?

Yes, and it is one of my favourite tasks. I first look at what runs where, what is backed up and what state the code is in. Then we decide together what is worth fixing and what should be rebuilt. We also try the restore, so that we can be sure of it.

What does working together look like?

We start with a short conversation in which I get to understand the situation and the goal. After that we move in small steps and look at where we have got to at the end of each one. This way the plan can change at any time, and there is no big surprise at the end.

What is an MVP, and why start with one?

An MVP is a first version that does just enough to be tried out. It quickly shows whether the idea works, before a lot of time and money have gone into it. After that, real usage decides which way to go next.

What happens if someone else wants to carry on the work later?

That is no problem, in fact it is the goal. I work to industry standards, CI/CD and documentation are a given for me, the code is readable, the environment is written down and every step can be followed. So another developer or team can carry on where I left off, whether it is a system I built or one I fixed.

What don't you do?

I do not make branding, campaigns or native mobile apps. I also do not write custom code where a ready-made product is a cheaper and better solution.

How soon do you reply?

I usually reply within one working day. If the situation is urgent, feel free to call me, as I am available on weekdays between 9 and 17.
